NDA or National Defence Academy Exam is a national level exam organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to recruit candidates in Army, Navy and Air Force. It is a two-tier examination, wherein, candidates qualifying the written test will also have to clear the SSB interview round.

NDA I 2025 Exam Dates

Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: You need to be between 16.5 to 19.5 years as of the first day of the month in which the exam is being conducted (for NDA I, your birth date should fall between July 2, 2006, and July 1, 2009).
- Educational Qualification:
- For Army Wing: 10+2 pass (or equivalent) from a recognized board.
- For Air Force and Navy Wings: 10+2 pass with Physics and Mathematics as subjects.



Exam Pattern
The NDA exam is divided into two parts:
- Written Exam:
- Mathematics (300 marks): This section consists of questions on topics like Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Geometry.
- General Ability Test (600 marks): This is further divided into:
- English (200 marks): Comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and basic English usage.
- General Knowledge (400 marks): Includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, and Current Affairs.
- SSB Interview (900 marks):
- After qualifying the written exam, selected candidates are called for the SSB interview (Services Selection Board), which evaluates personality, intelligence, and physical fitness.
- The SSB process usually takes 5 days, involving tests like group discussions, psychological testing, physical tasks, and individual interviews.
